Michael's Run is a 5K race held at the Leominster Eagles Hall. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with the race starting at 11 a.m. Last year, the event attracted over 100 runners and walkers. The day includes a Family Fun Day with bounce houses, face painting, music, games, and crafts, concluding with an After-Party.
The race commemorates Michael Wallace, a former Leominster High School all-star running back and Harvard student who struggled with clinical depression. Proceeds benefit the SHINE Initiative, which supports school outreach programs for children and teens dealing with mental illness. A past participant, a father pushing a baby in a stroller, led to a running joke about outrunning the stroller in subsequent races.
