Om dette løb
Muruvik Backyard Ultra is a gravel backyard ultra in Malvik, Norway. Runners start at 9:00 AM and are sent out on the same 6.7 km loop every hour. The format is simple and brutal: finish the loop inside the hour, rest with any remaining time, then line up again on the next full hour. The race ends only when one runner completes a final lap alone.
The route runs out and back between Muruvik and Hommelvik along the Malvik trail. It is flat, which aids steady pacing and long-distance attempts, but the hourly restart means the real test is recovery, sleep loss, and staying organized as the laps accumulate. Hell Ultraløperklubb organizes the race, which first ran in spring and returned again that same autumn. The course record is 48 laps, set by Børje Cato Moen, and one edition also produced a Norwegian women’s best mark after a runner reached 47 laps.
