Wineglass Race Series

The Wineglass Race Series is a fall road-racing weekend centered in Corning, New York, within the Finger Lakes region. It offers a full marathon, half marathon, 5K, and 8K. The Guthrie Wineglass Marathon begins in Bath and finishes in Corning, while the Wegmans Wineglass Half Marathon starts in Campbell, sharing the same finish line on historic Market Street. The marathon course is conducive to personal bests, and many participants use it to qualify for the Boston Marathon. The marathon route crosses the valley, passing through Savona, Campbell, Coopers Plains, and Painted Post before concluding in downtown Corning. Participants receive a handcrafted glass medal, a nod to the race's name and Corning's heritage in glassmaking. The series attracts approximately 6,500 runners, with over 3,000 in the half marathon and around 2,700 in the full marathon. Athletes travel from numerous states and several countries. The event also features competitive front-end racing, with elite runners aiming for sub-1:04 times in the half and sub-2:20 in the marathon. Runners can combine the 8K and 5K with the full or half marathon via the Riesling or Pinot Challenge, earning an additional medal.
