The Maratona de Aracaju begins at Praça de Eventos da Orla on Avenida Santos Dumont, adjacent to the waterfront in Aracaju, Sergipe. This late-October road race offers five distances: 5K, 10K, 15K, a half marathon, and the full 42.195K marathon, accommodating beginners, shorter-distance runners, and marathoners within the same event weekend. The event evolved from the earlier Meia Maratona 21K SergipeRun, subsequently doubling its main distance and becoming Speed Sports’ largest athletic event. The full marathon commences at 4:00 a.m., with the 15K and half marathon starting at 4:20. This early schedule is practical for a hot coastal capital.
