The Trail Le Creusot - Chalon is a mid-June trail race held near Chalon-sur-Saône in Burgundy, France, following a section of the historic Creusot-Chalon path. Runners begin on Friday night and finish as Saturday morning light appears over the vineyards. The event features two primary distances: approximately 26 km and 51 km. The longer course includes about 1,000 meters of elevation gain and is eligible for the UTMB Index.
The course presents varied terrain, not a flat road race, with descents, short ascents, and vineyard scenery. This race attracts trail runners and individuals who prefer extended time outdoors over urban events. It also commemorates the 150th anniversary of Club Alpin Chalon and revives a night race tradition from the 1980s, recognized by local runners as part of the region's trail running heritage.
