Heroes of America Marathon/Half Marathon/5K

The Heroes of America races begin and end on Broadway behind the Columbus Marriott in Columbus, Georgia. A marathon, half marathon, and 5K all take place on the same morning. The marathon and half marathon start at 8:00 a.m. Eastern, with the 5K beginning shortly after from the same Broadway start line. The marathon covers 26.2 miles, the half marathon 13.1 miles, and the 5K is 3.1 miles, offering runners a selection of a long road race, a standard half, or a shorter downtown run. The marathon route heads south from the Marriott, utilizing streets like Broadway, West 9th Street, and 1st Avenue, before connecting to the Columbus River Walk and entering Fort Benning. The marathon course circulates within Fort Benning from approximately mile 8.25 to mile 17.75, then heads back to the Marriott for the finish. The course is largely flat with some minor inclines; however, the River Walk segment is narrow, precluding hand-crank participants. All finishers receive a race shirt and medal. Relay members receive the same finisher items. Awards are presented for overall, masters, and age groups up to 75 and older.
