The Travesía Nocturna de Montaña de Lorca is a night mountain walk in Lorca, Murcia, held over an October weekend as part of the Guadalentín Sports Games. Teams depart with lanterns, headlamps, and maps, emphasizing navigation and shared effort over speed. Recent editions include two non-competitive trail options, typically around 25 km and 15 km, with other versions noted as roughly 18-22 km for the long route and 12-15 km for the short one.
The route is the main feature: participants discover the exact location shortly before the start, sometimes only a few hours prior. The organization provides each team with a map showing the marked itinerary, then guides them through natural areas near Lorca under the stars. The event originated with the first Guadalentín Sports Games and is the oldest in that program; it is now in its 46th edition. It attracts local families, friends, walkers, and outdoor clubs, with Club Senderista de Lorca La Carrasca among the organizers. Participants receive T-shirts, and the top three teams in each category are awarded medals and sports equipment.
