The Grand Raid de Camargue is an annual off-road race held in the Camargue, a wetland region in southern France. Runners are permitted access to this protected natural land only once per year. It is a nature race, distinct from city road events, and requires a PPS health certificate for entry. The organizers also supply a welcome booklet for participants and their companions.
The race begins with a start behind horses, then proceeds towards the sea via private beach access. The course crosses salt pans with pink water, dikes, water crossings, and rocky terrain. Flamingos are often visible near the route, and the finish line is located within traditional Camargue arenas.
