Les 21 Kms de Casteljaloux is a municipal running event in Casteljaloux, a spa town in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The main choices are a 21 km race starting at 9:00 AM and a 10 km race starting at 9:15 AM, with a non-timed charity walk setting off a few minutes later. It is still a young event, with its third edition using new courses for both race distances.
The routes are not flat-out mountain runs: the 21 km course lists 92 meters of climbing, while the 10 km has 46 meters, so the effort is more rolling than severe. The day is aimed at a broad local crowd, from newer runners to experienced athletes, and the charity walk gives families and friends a way to join without racing. One unusual feature is the Challenge des élus, a separate ranking inside the 10 km and 21 km races where local elected officials compete against each other. Local Casteljaloux associations support the event, and the walk is registered on site rather than online.
