The Rallye Cyclo du Beaujolais concludes at a château, lending this Villefranche-sur-Saône event a distinct local Beaujolais character. This one-day cyclotourist rally takes place in early October, starting from the Maison des Associations on Avenue Saint-Exupéry. Participants can select routes of approximately 40, 65, or 80 km, with elevation gains ranging from a modest 300 m to around 1,000 m.
The routes depart from Villefranche and loop back on marked roads. The precise distance and climbing may vary slightly based on the designated finishing château. Cyclotouriste Caladois is the organizing body. Helmets are mandatory, and refreshment stops are provided along the way. The event concludes with a mâchon beaujolais, a traditional Lyonnais meal, served until early afternoon. A 10 km walk is also available. Bikes can be stored in a supervised area, and organizers provide start and course photos for participants to download at no charge.
