The Cure EB Butterfly Run is a family-friendly race day at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, offering 1k, 5k, and 10k distances. The shorter runs are open to all ages, while the 10k is for participants aged 13 and up. The event accommodates runners, walkers, and wheelchair users, emphasizing participation over speed.
The course begins at Timber Lodge Cafe and is accessible for runners, walkers, and wheelchair users. All participants receive a Butterfly Run race t-shirt, race number, timing chip, and finisher medal. The event also features music, balloon modelling, face painting, and an egg and spoon race for children. The race aims to raise awareness of epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a genetic condition causing blistering and skin loss from minor friction, with entry fees supporting research for a cure.
