GF Edita Pucinskaite is a granfondo cycling event in Pistoia, Tuscany, starting in Piazza del Duomo and heading into the Pistoia Mountains. It typically takes place in late May, begins early in the morning, and is now in its 16th edition. Participants can select from short, medium, and long routes, with the main Granfondo route covering 115 km and featuring 2,850 m of elevation gain.
The course follows mountain roads near Pistoia, with the Granfondo and Fondo routes diverging at Ponte di Lizzano. Two timed climbs define the competitive aspect of the day: one spans 8.1 km with 520 m of elevation gain, and the other is 12 km with 760 m of gain. The event also offers a cicloturistico option, aid stations with provisions, chip timing, motorcycle escorts, secured intersections, medical support, and a supervised bike storage area. Avis Bike Pistoia ASD is the organizer, and the weekend program includes a children’s Gimkana Franco Ballerini, a finisher medal, ice cream at the finish line, and a pasta party post-ride. The event supports cycle tourism and blood donation, contributing to the local community.
