Chasing the Dream 5K -MLK Day Celebration

Chasing the Dream 5K - MLK Day Celebration is a 5K race held in Orlando, Florida, on MLK Day. It begins at Blue Jacket Park, located at 2501 General Rees Avenue. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. Packet pickup opens at 6:30 a.m., followed by a brief warm-up. This event is noted as Central Florida's sole MLK Day race, offering registration for adults, children, and a virtual option. The course consists of two laps within Blue Jacket Park, with directional signage and volunteers assisting participants. The finish line is positioned in the opposite direction from the start. Chip timing is provided, and awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the top three in each age category. All finishers will receive a custom medal and a tech shirt. Proceeds benefit the New Image Youth Center, an organization providing after-school and summer programs for at-risk youth. Additionally, participants can contribute food donations, including individually wrapped snacks, fruit, and microwavable meals, for the center's students.
