The Chile & Frijole Hot to Trot, a 5K and 10K race in Pueblo, Colorado, is organized by Southern Colorado Runners. It takes place on the final day of the Pueblo Chile & Frijoles Festival, a downtown Union Avenue event featuring live entertainment, street vendors, cooking competitions, and numerous chili dishes. Runners who register receive complimentary entry to the festival, linking race day directly with one of Pueblo’s busiest food weekends.
Both race distances begin and end at Walter’s Brewing Company, utilizing the Arkansas River Trail with segments alongside the Arkansas River and the Riverwalk. The course is largely flat and quick, though it incorporates a bridge ascent over Main Street and passes Lake Runyon and Phelps Creek before concluding back at the brewery. The festival attracts Pueblo residents and visitors from across Colorado and other regions, and strollers are permitted if they begin from the rear.
