Le Tour de Bayou - 2026

Le Tour de Bayou is a Central Louisiana cycling event based at Kent Plantation House in Alexandria, offering rides for families and serious distance cyclists. The shortest option is a 2-mile family fun ride or walk. The bike routes extend to 10, 25, 40, 69, and 101 miles, with GPS maps provided for those who wish to load the route beforehand. The event uses Kent Plantation House as its starting point, one of Louisiana’s oldest Creole plantation sites. This French Colonial house is connected to the Spanish land-grant era and the region’s layered French, Spanish, and American history. Throughout Alexandria, bicycles are a visible symbol of the event. The Cajun-flavored motto states, “Laissez les bicyclettes rouler!” The ride proceeds rain or shine, accommodating a diverse group including local and visiting cyclists, families, walkers, and long-distance riders, each with a suitable route.
