The Legden Midsummer Night Run is an evening public run held in Legden, North Rhine-Westphalia, taking place in the town center during June. The event accommodates children, youth, adults, walkers, Nordic walkers, and wheelchair users. Adult runners can choose between 5 km and 10 km distances, with separate 5 km starts for walking and Nordic walking. The 5 km route is flat, and all races conclude in the town center.
This event emphasizes community participation over competitive timing; only the top three male and female finishers receive official times. Consequently, many participants treat it as a leisurely recreational run. Crowds gather along the town-center course, contributing significantly to the midsummer night atmosphere. Now in its 43rd year, the race has updated its children's events, with the former Bambini run now divided into two 400 m races for different age groups.
