Sobre esta carrera
The Morley 10K begins on Wide Lane in Morley, West Yorkshire, directing participants onto closed roads through the town’s historic streets. This 10K road race takes place in autumn, organised by Morley Running Club in partnership with Morley Town Council. The event is run by volunteers and operates on a not-for-profit basis, with race fees contributing to local charities. Sustainability is a key consideration in the race's operations. It accommodates competitive runners, novices, experienced participants, those in fancy dress, and wheelchair racers who have informed the organisers of any specific needs.
The course ascends into town via Middleton Road, descends Queen Street passing the Town Hall, and arrives at Morley Bottoms before turning onto Brunswick Street and proceeding along Victoria Road towards Asquith Avenue. Participants encounter two out-and-back sections, several inclines, and a distinctive three-way road crossing at Morley Bottoms, adding complexity to the route compared to a typical town 10K. Spectators line the course, water stations are provided, and finishers are awarded an environmentally conscious medal along with confectionery. Prizes are given to the top three finishers.
