The Coon Dog Day 5k follows the traditional route. A Kids' Fun Run has a new route. A free hotdog is provided at packet pickup. The daylong festival features crafts, food, music, and small town fun. The Polk County High School Cadets marching band hosts the event and acknowledges their "Top Dogs", "Big Dogs", and "Porch Pups" sponsors.
