About this race
Pölven Trail & Kinderlauf marks the Sunday conclusion of the Tour de Tirol in Söll am Wilden Kaiser, located in Austria's Tirol region near Kufstein. The primary event is a 23 km mountain-trail run, not a standard half marathon, featuring 1,200 m of elevation gain and commencing at 09:00. A children's race takes place concurrently, and the broader Tour de Tirol weekend also covers a Friday relay, the Söller Zehner.
The route crosses from Söll towards Pölven and circles back to Söll, concluding in the village. It predominantly follows gravel paths, with approximately 2 km on asphalt. This current Sunday race is considerably more rugged and steep than the former flat half marathon it superseded. That earlier format featured the Kaiserwinkl-Halbmarathon, which completed four circuits around Walchsee, and subsequently a seven-lap half marathon through Söll; since 2014, the Pölven Trail has occupied the Sunday schedule.
