About this race
Campbelltown Athletics Track hosts this event on "Australia's newest all weather 400m Synthetic Track" within Campbelltown Sports Centre. This marks the 6th year of running, offering the essential focus track ultras demand: no distractions from scenery, only pacing, patience, and the clock. It also serves as the "Australian 24 Hour Track National Championship."
The course design is straightforward and challenging in key aspects, featuring a consistent loop with the same turn, straight, and finish line encountered repeatedly until your strategy succeeds or fails. Ultra runners are drawn to this type of competition for its straightforward nature: a measured surface, managed conditions, and a mental test. For 2026, the primary race "doubles as the 2026 Australian National 24 Hour Championships," indicating a field that values consistent performance over showmanship.
