About this race
De Hel van Kasterlee is a cross-duathlon in Kasterlee, built around a bluntly hard format: 15 km of running, 125 km on a mountain bike, then another 30 km of running. The event is described in Dutch as “the toughest duathlon in the world,” and the distances explain why.
The race starts with a run, sends athletes into a long off-road bike section, and then asks them to finish with a run longer than many standalone trail races. A fixed camera at the finish line gives the day a simple spectator hook: after hours of mud, pacing, and survival, everyone is waiting to see who still has enough left to reach Kasterlee’s finish.
