About this race
The Trail de la Soupe is a two-day winter trail race held in La Roche-en-Ardenne, within the Belgian Ardennes. Both the start and finish are located in the town center. Participants can select from various distances ranging from approximately 12 to 45 kilometers. Specific options include a 15 km trail on Saturday, and on Sunday, choices around 44 km, 33 km, 23 km, and 12 km. The 44 km race is the primary challenge, covering about 1,700 meters of elevation gain and is listed for a UTMB Index, with over 300 finishers recorded in recent events.
The race routes traverse the hills surrounding La Roche-en-Ardenne, ensuring that even the shorter distances are distinctly trail running. The longer distances are eligible for UTMB points. The event also features a separate 15 km walk and offers two-day classifications for those wishing to compete on both days. The finish line is situated on Place du Bronze, where multiple soup stands are present. Warm soup is also provided along the course, the origin of the race's name.
