Share the Road Gran Fondo 2026

Share the Road Gran Fondo is a supported cycling ride in Ontario’s Halton Hills, with 50, 100, and 160 km options and a September date. It is produced by the Share the Road Cycling Coalition, so the event is tied directly to road-safety advocacy. Riders receive police support on the road, staffed rest stops with hydration and food, and access to the Milton Velodrome, including showers after the ride. The ride honors OPP Sergeant Greg Stobbart, who was killed while cycling; his death inspired the creation of the Share the Road Cycling Coalition. Money raised supports the group’s work on safer cycling infrastructure, education, and legislation across Ontario. That advocacy has helped bring in the 1m safe passing law, Canada’s first Vulnerable Road User legislation, Ontario’s #CycleON strategy, and more than $125 million in provincial cycling infrastructure funding for municipalities. After the ride, participants gather for a meal and refreshments, fitting the event’s practical, community-focused feel.
