About this race
The Kladenský maratón begins and ends on the track at Sletiště athletic stadium in Kladno. Runners then proceed into Lapák Forest Park for eight laps. This is a standard 42.195 km marathon, held annually in September and organized by Maratón klub Kladno with A.C. TEPO Kladno. The event also features a relay for teams of two to four, a 6 km run, and children’s races at the stadium during the main marathon.
The lap measures approximately 5 km, largely shaded, and consists of a semi-hard mix of asphalt and gravel paths. The marathon has a six-hour cut-off, with aid stations every 5 km. Changing rooms and bag storage are available at the stadium, and medical support is provided at the start-finish area. Participants from twelve nations have competed here, and the event has hosted the Czech Republic Veterans Championship on four occasions. The course records are held by Mulugeta Serbessa and Ivana Martincová. Notable past participants include Czech athletes Eliška Klučinová, Vlastimil Zwiefelhofer, Ivan Uvizl, and Jiří Šoptěnek.
