About this race
The Hohenlockstedter Pellkartoffellauf is an annual running event held on the Pohl Boskamp grounds in Hohenlockstedt. It offers races for children, teenagers, adults, and walkers. Since 2002, this event has typically attracted over 500 participants.
The program features distances of 2.8 km, 5 km, and 10 km. A 5 km Nordic walking option is available, alongside short Bambini runs of approximately 500 m for preschool children and first graders.
This event functions more as a local family race day than a single competitive road race. Children can participate in free introductory runs. All finishers receive medals immediately after crossing the line, and awards are presented to the fastest runners in both overall and age-group categories. Complementing the races, attendees can enjoy a food mile, refreshments at the finish, children’s activities, a wheel of fortune, raffles, a farmers’ and craft market, and a stage program. This setup allows participants to attend for the race and remain for the broader community event.
