About this race
The Klausdorfer Nikolauslauf is a winter running event held in Klausdorf, a district of Schwentinental located on the eastern shore of Kiel Fjord. This race is connected to St. Nicholas Day and features adult races of approximately 5.6 km, 10.2 km, and 15.3 km. The longest race begins first, with the shorter races commencing later in the morning.
All three adult courses are characterized as hilly, distinguishing it from a simple flat run by the water to conclude the year. The event also includes children's and youth races, broadening the day's activities beyond the three adult distances. Now in its 41st edition, the event feels like a well-established local December tradition rather than a new, one-time competition.
