About this race
The Nikolaus-Waldlauf is a December forest running event in Arnstorf, Germany, based at the school center on Eggenfeldener Strasse. The program includes short and middle-distance races: 2.7 km, 4.4 km, and 7.8 km runs, plus a 7.2 km Nordic Walking event. The route is hilly and runs through woodland near Eiselsdorf, presenting a local cross-country-style winter race rather than a flat road run.
Children and youth have their own competitions, with student categories scored by age group. All races share the same finish area. A free bus transfer from the Arnstorf school center connects the start and finish. The school center also hosts award ceremonies and provides showers, serving as the practical hub for runners, walkers, families, and clubs. The event motto, “Wir bewegen Menschen” — “We Move People” — reflects its club-sport character and emphasis on participation alongside competition.
