Geiseltal-Hasse-See-Triathlon

The Geiseltal-Hasse-See-Triathlon is a compact triathlon in Roßbach, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, held in late June around Hasse-See in the Geiseltal area. Triathlon Club Merseburg organizes it, with individual and relay starts rather than a large festival field. The entry-level race uses a 500 m swim, 15 km bike leg, and 3.3 km run, suiting Jedermann starters, age-group athletes, and teams splitting the work between three people. The race format is straightforward: swim in the lake, bike on the road, then run on the road. The longer short-distance race increases to 1.5 km of swimming, 45 km on the bike, and 10 km of running, and it also serves as the Saxony-Anhalt state championship. The field is small by triathlon standards, with expected numbers around 100 for each individual race and a much smaller relay group, so the transition area is more club-meet practical than a big-city spectacle.
