About this race
The Heide-Brevet is a road cycling brevet organized by RSG Blankenese in the southern Elbe region, south of Hamburg, through the heathland. Participants navigate using a GPS track, making it resemble a self-guided endurance ride more than a traditional race. The available distances are a 201 km brevet extending into the heathland towards Soltau, a 172 km Midi-Brevet to Bispingen, and a 136 km Mini-Brevet. The longest route features just under 1,000 meters of elevation gain, while the 172 km route has rolling terrain and extensive heathland scenery.
The routes are designed to bypass major roads where feasible without excessive winding. The 201 km course offers food stops in Egestorf, Delmsen, and Schneverdingen, and the 172 km course allows for provisions in Egestorf. All routes converge back through the Schafstall in Buesenbachtal near Woerme, where all participants receive a voucher for a stop. This common stopping point represents the event's most distinct tradition: regardless of the chosen distance, all riders head towards this same valley location before completing their ride.
