The Sparkassen Remstal Marathon begins in Schwäbisch Gmünd and runs along the Rems valley downstream to Waiblingen in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. This late September road race offers a full marathon, a half marathon, and a relay option. The marathon distance is 42.195 km, and the half marathon is 21.0975 km, concluding in Urbach. The course is officially measured and marked, noted as particularly fast.
Starting from Schwäbisch Gmünd, the route passes through Lorch, Plüderhausen, and Urbach. The marathon continues via Schorndorf and Winterbach toward Waiblingen. Relay teams of five to eight participants can divide the marathon into segments between 3.4 km and 8.6 km, accommodating clubs, workplaces, families, and individual runners. Spectators are welcome along the route and at the start/finish areas; non-runners may also participate as volunteers.
