About this race
The Zeller Adventslauf is a December road race held in Zell an der Mosel, a wine town situated on the Moselle River in Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. The event centers on a quick 5 km race, complemented by a distinct 5 km run for "Genießer" participants seeking a more relaxed pace. The program also features a relay, youth races approximately 1 km in length, and a short Bambini run of about 200 m, catering to a wide range of participants from young children to competitive club runners.
The primary focus is speed, with the 5 km race recognized as one of the quickest in Germany. Recent results indicate participation from clubs originating in Rheinland, Hessen, Nordrhein, and neighboring Moselle towns. The event's origins trace back to Zell in the early 2000s, later adopting the Adventslauf name. Raiffeisenbank Zeller Land has served as the title sponsor for numerous editions. Ruderverein Zell and Läufergruppe TSV Bullay-Alf are the organizing bodies, offering modest entry fees, complimentary participation for Bambini and relay runners, and registration options both online and on the day of the event.
