Love Nature Run’s Backyard Ultra is a forest backyard ultra held in Anneberg Skov, Odsherred, Denmark. Runners begin a new 6.706 km lap precisely on the hour. Each runner has exactly 60 minutes to complete the lap and return to the start line; failure in either aspect results in disqualification. The race continues as long as at least two participants can finish each lap within the time limit. Victory is awarded to the sole runner who completes the final lap alone. Should no one begin that final lap, no winner is declared.
The course consists of wide and narrow forest paths, featuring both level ground and inclines through varied woodland. Each lap includes approximately 120 meters of elevation gain. The race headquarters is situated at a shelter site, offering shelters for participants or space for personal tents and pavilions. Water and compost toilets are provided. Headlamps become necessary from around the seventh lap, as daylight diminishes. The event has a limit of about 100 participants and accommodates a wide range of objectives, from completing just one or two laps to running for an entire day. Martin Ohlsen achieved the highest recorded distance with 17 laps, and Danny Steiness later won with 15 laps, illustrating the challenge of this short-loop format.
