Carrera entre Molinos Legado Quijote is a long La Mancha running challenge set among the windmills of Don Quixote country. The race covers approximately 50 to 53 km and takes place in Campo de Criptana, Ciudad Real. Participants can compete solo, in pairs, or as part of a relay team, with categories for mixed, male, and female relay teams. The event also functions as a charity race, with proceeds benefiting the AECC.
The course connects Puerto Lápice, Herencia, Alcázar de San Juan, and Campo de Criptana, guiding runners on a point-to-point path through locations associated with the Quixote narrative. The race's concept originates from Chapter 8 of Don Quixote, where the knight perceives windmills as giants. Consequently, the race designates its distance as a run against “those giants.” The inaugural edition was formally introduced in Puerto Lápice, aligning the literary theme with a local La Mancha charity event.
