About this race
Cerro Marmota is a charity race and hiking march in Colmenar Viejo, north of Madrid, offering 10 km and 20 km options. Organized by Asociación Pablo Ugarte with support from the local sports department, funds raised benefit work against childhood cancer. The event is typically held in late November, catering to runners, walkers, families, local residents, and visitors, not exclusively competitive athletes.
The start and finish are located on Calle de La Magdalena. The routes combine town streets with the rural environment of Colmenar Viejo. The event features timing, trophies, a finish-area announcer, cloakroom service, bathrooms, a runner’s bag, and both liquid and solid aid stations. Organizers have also included family-oriented elements, such as drinks and fruit for children at the Pablo Ugarte roundabout. Participants are advised to bring a flashlight, as the course includes some unexpected elements.
