About this race
The Cross Trail de Zamora-Zangarun is a short trail and cross-country race held in Zamora, Spain, typically in late November. It covers approximately 10.5 km and is part of the local trail-running community, distinct from large urban road races. The event offers a straightforward off-road race featuring timing, aid stations, medical support, trophies, parking, bathrooms, a bag drop, and a runner's bag.
The Zangarun is also featured in the Zamora Trail Series as the fourth event in the provincial circuit. One iteration of the race utilizes the Ricobayo reservoir, the streets of Muelas del Pan, and the surrounding countryside. It includes a short course, a long course, and a hiking route, catering to participants beyond just competitive trail runners. A key aspect is its charitable purpose, with proceeds benefiting Asociación Corriendo con el Corazón por Hugo, also listed as an organizer for Zamora events.
