About this race
The CxM Trail Villa de Algar is a mountain running event held in Algar, a municipality within the Sierra de Cádiz in Spain. Participants can choose from several options: a 9 km hiking route, a 13 km short trail, and a main mountain race of approximately 23-24 km. This event caters to runners seeking a more challenging terrain than road races, while also accommodating walkers and novices with its shorter distances.
The primary route is a loop that begins on Calle Antonio Vega and remains within Algar's municipal boundaries. Runners will navigate forest tracks, footpaths, and country roads, featuring ascents, descents, and technical segments instead of a flat urban course. The 24K race is part of the Cádiz provincial mountain-running cup circuit and is listed on the official FADMES calendar. Algar City Council, along with A.D. Running Algar, organizes the event, receiving support from the Provincial Council of Cádiz and the Andalusian mountain sports federation. The course is equipped with four aid stations, and participants will have access to local sports facilities post-race.
