Sonseca’s road duathlon, held in the Toledo province, follows a compact run-bike-run format: 5 km running, approximately 20 km cycling, and a final 2.5 km run. The race accommodates various age categories, from cadets and juniors to under-23 athletes, elite adults, and over-40 veterans, allowing younger competitors, club members, and local amateurs to race together.
The event is integrated into Sonseca’s local sports culture. Previous years saw collaboration with the town council and local triathlon clubs, with a portion of entry fees benefiting the Association for Support of Cancer Patients in the Sonseca area. Awards have featured cash for top male and female finishers, alongside a team prize of money and a ham. One recent edition was named Memorial José Luis González Dorado, adding a community tribute to the competition.
