About this race
Gigante de Alarcón is a Saturday endurance cycling event in Cuenca, Spain, centered on the Alarcón reservoir, the town of Alarcón, and the Júcar river. It is designed for mountain bikes and gravel bikes, offering routes from an 80 km BTT and eBike ride with 1,000 m of elevation gain to a 195 km Ultra Maratón BTT with 2,700 m of elevation gain.
The route options also include a 130 km Maratón BTT, a 160 km Gran Fondo Gravel & BTT, and a 135 km Mutante BTT & Gravel, allowing riders to select between a challenging long ride and a full ultramarathon. The marathon and ultra routes begin in Olmedilla de Alarcón, with the ultra starting earlier in the morning. The event incorporates both navigation and course marking. This is a new race series for MTB and gravel riders, featuring non-competitive classifications for the primary BTT distances.
