Nocturna do Xalo sends runners onto the slopes of Monte Xalo after dark, with headlamps replacing daylight on an autumn night in Castelo, Culleredo. The main race is 12 kilometers on mountain trails and paths, and the event also offers an 8-kilometer walk for people who want the same night-on-the-hill experience without racing it.
The route is prepared around the neighboring Castelo hill by the Castelo Deporte association, working with Culleredo City Council. It draws local mountain regulars as well as walkers, and one edition filled all registrations and gathered about 400 people in Castelo. The event also carries a charity and awareness angle, with editions linked to the FMPJC.
