Sosciathlon is a solidarity sports day on La Pineda beach in Vila-seca, focusing on accessible activities instead of intense competition. Its tenth edition gathers thousands for running, walking, open-water swimming, cycling, zumba, yoga, You Can Fit sessions, and children's events on land and in the water. The 5 km races are offered alongside non-competitive options, attracting families, casual participants, volunteers, and those attending primarily to support the cause.
The event's current motto is "Without research there is no cure," with fundraising directed towards Ewing's sarcoma and Von Hippel-Lindau disease. All registration fees are donated to research via Hospital Sant Joan de Deu in Barcelona and the Spanish Association of Von Hippel-Lindau Families. Over its first nine editions, Sosciathlon saw nearly 12,000 participants, over 1,000 volunteers, raised more than 172,000 euros, and contributed funds to 18 charities. Port Tarragona sponsors the event, providing institutional backing to a day organized by the Sosciathlon Solidarity Association.
