About this race
Trail del Mampodre is a mountain race held in Maraña, a village in León, northern Spain, with the Mampodre massif nearby. The event takes place in late September, beginning in the morning. The official race covers 1,263 meters of elevation gain and an equal amount of descent. It is a trail race, set within one of the main mountain ranges of the Cantabrian Mountains.
The official Trail de Mampodre route ascends one of the massif's slopes, rather than crossing the entire massif. The broader Mampodre trail system illustrates the terrain: the Integral de Mampodre, starting and ending at the Albergue de Maraña, crosses six main summits over 14 km with 1,450 meters of climbing, including a brief grade-IV scramble. A more challenging Super Integral connects all 13 peaks above 2,000 meters in the massif. The race attracts local mountain runners, with approximately 200 participants noted.
