About this race
The Travesía de Navidad is a short open-water swim in Santander on Christmas Day, when swimmers enter the Bay of Santander while most of the city remains in holiday mode. It is a 300-meter race; the distance is brief, but the winter water provides a significant challenge. Local swimmers and visitors may enter, and the event is a firm part of Cantabria’s Christmas sports traditions.
The swim begins at Los Raqueros and concludes at the Las Reginas pier. The meeting and control point is Muelle Calderón on Paseo de Pereda, before the noon start. Entry is free via the GedSports platform. The event serves a charitable purpose: participants and observers are encouraged to bring food donations for the Food Bank. The public is also welcome at Paseo de Pereda, making it both a cold-water challenge and a Christmas gathering on the waterfront.
