Backyard de Terrides 2026

Backyard de Terrides begins and ends before the Terrides castle, within the castle’s 100-hectare natural park. It is a backyard-style endurance race where runners complete a 6.7 km loop each hour, needing to finish within that hour. The Défi des Chevaliers starts at 8:00 AM with a maximum of 12 laps, and the Défi des Ecuyers starts at 2:00 PM with a maximum of 6 laps. Starts continue hourly until 7:00 PM. The race is straightforward in concept but difficult to execute. A runner finishing too slowly is eliminated, while a runner finishing too quickly has reduced recovery time before the next hourly start. The Chevaliers race offers prize money to the top three men and women. Both challenges award castle titles for final standings: the first man and woman to finish the final lap are crowned King and Queen of Terrides castle for the evening, with second and third place finishers named princes and princesses. Intermediate laps are also significant, as the first man and woman to complete them receive a portion of the prize money. Challenge athlé 82 Rrunning Montauban organizes the event.
