Courir pour guérir begins and ends at the Eckmühl lighthouse in Penmarc’h, on Brittany’s Bigouden coast. It is a small solidarity race series and free-pace walk organized by Elsa Louis, featuring non-timed 5 km and 10 km runs, an 800 m children’s race, and a walk for those who wish to participate without competing. The event benefits Rêves de Marmouz, an association supporting sick children, and also funds medical research into childhood cancers.
The route departs from the lighthouse, looping through local landmarks: the Steir dunes, the old Birinik train line, the Chapel of Joy, and returning to the lighthouse. Children may enter without charge, adult entry is low-cost, and the day emphasizes participation over performance. Kouigns and drinks are available for purchase on site, but participants must bring cash as there are no ATMs or card terminals. Volunteers assist with the event, particularly in ensuring course security.
