About this race

The L'Infernal Trail des Vosges 200 km is a long mountain trail race based in St Nabord, in the Vosges Massif of northeastern France. The 200 km race begins one minute before midnight, sending runners into the mountains in the dark almost immediately. It features about 10,000 meters of climbing and a 61-hour cutoff, making it a true multi-day ultra rather than a long single-day trail run. The 200 km is part of the larger Infernal Trail des Vosges series, which includes shorter options at 130 km, 100 km, 70 km, 30 km, and 15 km. The course crosses more than thirty communes across the Vosges and Haut-Rhin departments. Runners encounter ridgelines, high mountain pastures, waterfalls, natural lakes, deep valleys, villages, and sites connected to Vosges history and archaeology. The event attracts over 7,000 runners across all its formats, from novice trail runners to seasoned ultra athletes. A notable aspect of the race is its scale as a volunteer-run event: approximately 650 volunteers support the weekend, and the organization states it is entirely volunteer-based.
