La course du dodo - Paris 2026

La Course du Dodo is a family running event held annually in Paris's Parc Montsouris, 14th arrondissement. Its name carries a Mauritian influence, referencing the dodo, the emblem bird of Mauritius, the founder's home island. The event focuses on shorter distances rather than intense competition: 1.5 km for children aged 5 and up, 1.5 km for children accompanied by parents (running or walking), and 6.5 km for participants aged 14 and older. Founder Benoît César, a former high-level athlete, clearly states the event's ethos: “The goal is not the time.” The primary 6.5 km course consists of three circuits within Parc Montsouris, while the 1.5 km routes ensure the event is suitable for young children and families. César established the race to promote awareness of sport's advantages, a mission reflected in its structure: all finishers receive medals, category prizes are distributed, and participants share a snack post-race. A tombola is also featured, with support from the 14th arrondissement mayor's office and the local sports office.
