La Nocturne de Puyferrat is a night trail race in Saint-Astier, Dordogne, held in early January after dark. Participants can select from short forest trails of approximately 9 km and 12 km, or a longer 18 km route. A 9 km option is also available for walkers. The 18 km trail, the most popular race, is a single loop. Previous editions of the event have also featured children’s and teen races before the main evening events.
The course takes runners through the Puyferrat area, including a section near the Chapelle des Bois and offering views around the Château de Puyferrat. This is a headlamp race in winter woods, emphasizing trail running at night with a substantial local crowd rather than speed on flat terrain. RAID'OC 24 organizes the event, which has been a fixture on the Dordogne running calendar for about ten years. Demand is notably high for a local trail race, with past entries selling out within hours or days. One earlier edition attracted close to 650 participants across all events, including the trail races, walk, and youth categories.
