About this race
The Trail de la Ria d’Etel is a trail-running weekend in Nostang, Morbihan, with its main races attracting around 1,200 participants. Runners can choose from several distances, typically ranging from a short 7 km or 6 km option up to 10 km, 17 km, and a 25 km race. This event is an annual tradition for Les Chemins d’Antan, the local association that organizes it and maintains the paths year-round.
The routes follow local trails near the Ria d’Etel, incorporating paths on private property, so participants are asked to be mindful of the course. The 25 km race is challenging enough that one past winner identified a paved section near the 13th kilometer as the point where he secured his victory. The field includes competitive regional athletes alongside a wide community participation: previous winners of the men’s 25 km include Christophe Olliéro, and Laura Fanen, a duathlon specialist, won the women’s race. Approximately 150 volunteers support the weekend, a Saturday walk can draw hundreds more participants, and 10% of profits are donated annually to Octobre Rose via the Nost’en Roz volunteers.
