Trail du Barétous 2026

Trail du Barétous is a mid-October trail race held in Arette, located in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of south-west France. Participants can select from three single-loop courses: one covering 9 km with 250 m of elevation gain, another 15 km with 450 m, or a 25 km route with 1,400 m. The longest race offers the option to be run solo or as a two-person team, providing a social alternative to the typical individual trail running format. The courses begin in Arette, crossing local mountain paths near the boundary of the Pyrenees National Park. The 25 km race attracts the most participants, with over 300 runners in the last edition, and the 15 km course also saw more than 100 participants. This event has been a fixture on the regional schedule for some time, and its charitable component is significant: all proceeds from the races are donated to Vaincre la Mucoviscidose, the French organization dedicated to combating cystic fibrosis.
