The Trail noct'urbain d'Arbois begins at 8 PM from the Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois in Arbois, a wine town in the Jura region of eastern France. This 10 km night race follows a mixed urban-and-nature path, structured as a single loop with 170 m of elevation gain, requiring participants to use trail shoes and a headlamp.
The course guides runners through Arbois after sunset, combining streets with more rugged trail segments instead of adhering to a road-race style. Registration is divided into 400 bibs for women and 400 for men, reflecting the organizers' goal of gender parity. Costumes are encouraged, with past themes including techno and disco. Finishers receive onion soup post-race, and amenities such as food trucks, a heated dining area, showers, changing rooms, and complimentary bag storage are provided, creating an atmosphere suited for socializing as well as racing.
